Bad reputation can destroy you no matter how good your product / background is

Last 2 days the performance on Steem was really catching people's attention. I have been writing on Hive at the beginning of the Hard Fork so I still know on the story between Steem and Hive, of course not as much as the other users do as many of them have been here for 5/6 years.

Personally I don't really hate Justin Sun as I never bought his "shit coins", it's just a situation for myself to hold his coin as I didn't know he would acquire Steemit.

But I know many people doesn't like him, no matter the western people or Chinese, you can easily find a lot of bad comment on this person saying he's a big cheater, how disgusting he is. I can recognize his reputation in the cryptocurrency industry is extremely bad.

We can see on people reaction on Steem, which is completely different to Hive, people is excited to seeing the Hive going up and will say "let's rocket to US$ 2/3/4, time to buy more before it rockets too high", but it's a different story on Steem, most of people in the investment discussion group is like "Hey, do you know Steem is going up? Sell them quickly and maybe it's our last chance to escape"

When I see people hold different attitude, I started thinking, why Hive is doing better and better meanwhile Steem is getting worse? Lack of Dapps? Lack of big whale willing to invest and HODL their token? Maybe.

But why there's lack of DApps or big whale there? At the moment I can only figure out one reason - the reputation. People doesn't like him, and they won't trust in him, his team, and all his products no matter how good the background he is, how good the team he got (well, people won't agree when I say he has a good team I guess)

I ain't going to curse Steem to fail / closed, I don't need to do that, I am just trying to stay neutral and find out the reason of people has different reaction between Steem and Hive, this is what I can figure out, what do you think?
