Personally think their Gewurztraminer is very elegant and excellent, Riesling wines are very good and fully terroir represented, and the Pinot Gris is surprisingly outstanding.

2007 Pinot Gris Herrenweg

m gold. thick leg. not so watery texture.

m+ nose. developing. Light waxy, floral honey, ripe pear, caramelized pineapple, grass, mineral.

m+ acidity. m- body. m+ alcohol. m intensity. The palate is not as “chewy” as expected, and not so mineral and waxy.

2007 Riesling Herrenweg

m+ gold.

pro. nose. pineapple, mineral, citrus, pineapple. petrol

h. acidity. m body. m+ alc. m+ intensity. honey, acacia. chewy.

2007 Gewurztraminer Herrenweg

floral, lychee. rose petal.

Medium+ acidity. Chewy mouthfeel. Typical Gewurztraminer style, but very very very dense.

2008 Riesling Herrenweg

m gold.

Medium+ intensity nose. Honey, flint, flower, light petrol, stony, grapefruit, orange skin.

High acidity, dry. A bit grass note, green apple, light flower, honey hint, a bit spices, and lemon in the medium+ intensity palate. Very lingering.

2008 Riesling Hemibourg

Caramelized pineapple, honey, light flower, light petrol, light volatility in the medium+ nose.

High acidity, dry. White pepper, orange juice, gravel, light petrol, lemon skin in the medium+ intensity palate.

2008 Riesling Clos Hauserer

m gold

Apple, petrol, flint, honey, flowers, a bit white pepper, a bit volatility flavor (pipe glue), ripe pineapple, sunkiss juice.

High acidity, dry. Gravel, grass, fresh citrus flavors (orange, lemon), flower, and honey hint in the high intensity palate.
