女权行动在德公益讲座海报图片被AP要求支付版权费

3月19日，我受邀在德国一个空间做一个线上的公益免费讲座。因为组织方引用了我的PPT里面的中国metoo运动的弦子开庭案庭外声援的照片，导致组织方收到了德国当地一下很大的律所的律师函，要求对方支付侵权的费用。因为组织方是事后告诉我的，所以我听到后感到非常诧异。

On March 19th, I was invited to give an online lecture at a venue in Germany. The organizers used a photo from my PowerPoint presentation depicting the Xianzi trail court outside protest of the Chinese #MeToo movement, which led them to receive a cease-and-desist letter from a prominent local law firm in Germany, demanding payment for copyright infringement. Since the organizers informed me of this afterwards, I was quite surprised to hear about it.

记得从2012年开始，我们和媒体的关系就是互相合作，很多时候在采访的过程中，我们会给记者提供新闻稿，照片和视频。甚至在女权五姐妹被抓期间，很多国内的伙伴和媒体都给AP提供了非常多的素材。我们的伙伴从未想过收费这件事情，也没有任何商业化的想法，因此所有的帮助都是免费的。

I remember that since 2012, our relationship with the media has been one of mutual cooperation. Often during interviews, we would provide journalists with press releases, photos, and videos. Even during the period when the Feminist Five were detained, many domestic partners and media outlets provided a great deal of material to the Associated Press (AP). Our partners never considered charging for this, nor did they have any commercial intentions, so all assistance was provided free of charge.

我感谢国际媒体对于中国女权运动的关注，但是对于一个社会运动的组织者来说，第一次被这样间接“罚款”还是第一次。因为，弦子开庭案当天，我也在现场，虽然不是直接组织者的身份，但是也尽到了一个组织者的自觉，帮助维护秩序，守望相助，大家在声援群里发了很多照片，一定程度上，这些照片都是共享的，所以我也很难分清楚那张照片，是AP拍摄的有版权的。

I appreciate the international media's attention to the Chinese feminist movement, but for an organizer of a social movement, being indirectly "fined" like this for the first time is quite unexpected. On the day of the Xianzi court trial, although I was not directly involved in organizing it, I still acted conscientiously as an organizer, helping to maintain order and offering assistance. Many photos were shared in the solidarity group, and to some extent, these photos were all shared. So, it's difficult for me to distinguish which photo was copyrighted by AP.

如今，却因为我们组织的行动，被AP雇佣的德国律所要求花钱支付，我们在现场的活动。实在是令人感到唏嘘。

Now, because of our organized actions, we are being asked to pay for the activities we conducted on the ground by a German law firm hired by AP. It's truly lamentable.

我尝试联系AP获得这张照片的版权，对方说，我们不可能对你免费。你想用免费的，就去一些非营利的图片库找图片去。我花了两天去消化这样的事情，着实令我难以接受。

I tried contacting AP to obtain the copyright for this photo, but they stated that they couldn't provide it for free. They suggested I look for images in non-profit image databases if I wanted them for free. It took me two days to come to terms with this situation, and it's really difficult for me to accept.

下图是开庭的一些照片，有一张也被一些媒体转发了，免费的。可惜了，没有在现场多拍几张好看的，当天警察比较多，我也顾虑比较多。
