Sad to see Shenzhen turned into dead city

When talking about Hong Kong and Shenzhen, what's your impression of these cities? Do you think they are the flurihsing citites with unlimited enegry? And people are always busy and walk very quick on the street?

Yes they do, before the pandemic, both Hong Kong and Shenzhen is always busy as you thought in the past, but everything changed when the COVID suddenly comes out. The life of all people all over the world changed.

The border between China and Hong Kong was closed since the beginning of the Feb, 2020 then I started to seperated with my wife until July 2021 when I decided to go guarantine for 14 days in Shenzhen.

The above pictures were taken in LoWu (Luohu in Mandarine Chinese), the border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. it used to have thousands of people around the LoWu port, you can see many Hong Kong chinese visit their for shopping, having nice seafood around.

But after the border closed, you can see there's hardly any people on the street anymore, I gone a bit sentimental when I saw the place and remember the date before the pandemic.

it's planned to re-open the border by the end of December last year, unfrotunately there is another wave of the outbreak in both Hong Kong and China which is definiately affecting the sechdule on the border re-opening.

So I have no idea when can I go home to visit my wife again, hopefully I can make it within 2022.
