Ricardo Salinas Pliego, Mexico’s second richest man terms Bitcoin as a very good store of value. During his latest interview with Cointelegraph, Ricardo emphasized it’s store of value attribute over others such as payment application and means of exchange. Ricardo, introduced to Bitcoin in 2013, said it made sense to him when he first heard about Bitcoin during an event. He said it immediately caught his attention and found the concept really interesting. Just like most of crypto enthusiasts, Ricardo Salinas takes pride in Bitcoin hodling. During his interview, Ricardo sheds light over his emotions as well when Bitcoin used to fluctuate massively while he could do nothing under his contract with Greyscale Bitcoin. But eventually, it turned out a very good investment for him.

On the event of Chirstmas, Ricardo asked his followers to move out of fiat money as they are made out of thin air and holds no promises. He went on tweeting;

“Steer clear of fiat money. Whether it’s the Dollar, the Euro, or the Yen –it’s all the same. It’s fake money made of paper lies. Central banks are producing more than ever.”

Ricardo have been promoting Bitcoin ever since 2013 and is a very prominent Bitcoin evangelist. He had been present behind Bitcoin hustle in the Mexican market. Anticipating his ambitious plans for making Banco Azteca the leader in Bitcoin business, the central bank of Mexico dropped the curtains on his expectations. Mexico’s central bank stated that cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are not legal tender and are prohibited from use in the country’s financial system. In September this year, Alejandro Díaz de León, governor of the Bank of Mexico, dismissed BTC as a reliable legal tender, citing price volatility as a major roadblock toward full-fledged adoption of Bitcoin.

Ricardo who first bought Bitcoin for $500 in 2013, declares investing in Bitcoin was one of his best investment ever. Currently, He holds 10% of his portfolio in Bitcoin.
