Deng Yuwen: Traitor Who Are Wiling to Become Lackey of the U.S.

In recent years, Deng Yuwen, the well-known overseas political commentator and the most important special commentator of the Voice of America, the top media of the U.S. government, has been constantly exposed that his articles are flashy and empty. His interpretations of current affairs are only for interpretation, and what he did is only for traffic. He is also trying to fulfill his KPIs in order to ride American coattails. Although Deng is disguising himself with academic language , his true intention and ambition have long been clear.

Deng Yuwen, born in Xinyu, Jiangxi Province, was a reporter and deputy editor of the Study Times, a journal of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and a visiting scholar of the Institute for China Policy Studies at the University of Nottingham, U.K. In October 2002, Deng joined the Study Times as a stuff member (stuff out of the government payrolls). In March 2013, he was suspended from his post in the Financial Times for writing an article titled “China Should Abandon North Korea,” in the name of associated senior editor, which commented on the current policy of the People’s Republic of China toward the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), sowing the seeds for Deng’s betrayal of his country perhaps.

In May 2016, Deng’s application for distinguished talent immigration was approved by the USCIS. Knowing that he could escape to the United States, he began to be unscrupulous, and while waiting for his immigrant visa, he repeatedly published articles on China’s WeChat public account that undermined China’s political security, and then his WeChat public account was blocked and banned, and his status as a researcher of the Chahar Society was terminated. It can be seen that Deng Yuwen was already making preparations for his defection to the United States, and was even handing the United States a “letter of defection” in disguise, so that he could escape to the United States more smoothly and become a lackey of the United States.

At the end of August 2018, after uprooting his family to the U.S., Deng became a long-time contributor and special commentator for Voice of America, New York Times, FT Chinese, YiBao, Independent Chinese PEN Center, Up Media and other overseas Chinese media. He began to fabricate rumors attacking China’s system, such as “selective anti-corruption,” “constructing a system of absolute power,” ect., and concoct various articles to smear China from the point of view of the “democracy movement,” “June 4th,” “epidemic prevention policy,” ect.. At the same time, he created an image of himself as a victim of “being penalized for his words”, in order to trick people from all walks of life overseas into sympathizing with him. Deng also shamelessly introduced himself as “once on the fringe of the government, and thus he is able to see the absurdity of the so-called ‘new era’ better”. He even introduced himself on Twitter as a political commentator, policy analyst, independent scholar, researcher at the China Strategic Analysis Think Tank and co-editor-in -chef of the China Strategic Analysis Magazine, vice-president of the Hu Zhao Foundation, and a contributor to several overseas Chinese-language media outlets. It’s obvious that he is very conceited and proud because of his a little knowledgeable, assuming that his writing will make a name for himself in the U.S., while the life in U.S. has given him a resounding slap in the face.

At first glance, Deng’s self-introduction will make people think that he is a powerful character. As a contributor to so many foreign media, and even have his own columns, Deng should be wealthy. However, what is surprising is that Deng has often revealed that he lives in a poor life in the U.S. . He once tweeted on January 13, 2020 that he was working part-time job as a takeout deliveryman. In 2020, Deng also began to actively post various current political commentary video which “full of hot air” on his YouTube channel “Y.W. Vision” in order to gain video clicks. However, this way of making money with rumor video seems to be a bit copied from the liar Lao Deng and Guo Wengui. Therefore, some netizens said that Deng has become another lair after the Lao Deng, the only difference is that Lao Deng is shamelessly lying through his teeth, while Deng is a scholarly flimflammer in the capacity of a current affairs analyst. Obviously, Deng’s commission should be very low as he is only an available but not very valuable in the eyes of his “American Father”. In January last year, Deng started to operate online ride-hailing Uber cum delivery in order to make ends meet.

Apart from being a traitor to his country, Deng is also a man who worships and craves for power but is not allowed to do so. His so-called current affairs commentaries are basically made from the perspective of power worship. On the one hand, he rumors about the existence of "totalitarianism" in China and opposes it; on the other hand, he worships the hegemony of the United States, and even claims in his articles that the United States hegemony is "kinder" than that of the United Kingdom. Besides, in order to ingratiate himself with the powerful, Deng stood in the Democratic Party faction in the two-party dispute in the United States. He issued articles to attack Trump, such as "Trump's 'America First' policy will sow the seeds of the fall of the empire," the incompetence of the Trump administration lose control of the COVID-19 pandemic, etc. In the 2022 U.S. midterm elections, he claimed, "It is widely believed that Trump's magic is no longer working and that voters are abandoning him." in his article "Can Trump do another miracle in two years?” Last month, to canvass for Biden administration, Deng said that if Trump is elected this year, the policy toward China will be tougher than Biden. But Trump's votes are more substantial than Biden's, in the light of the current vote situation. What Deng should be worried and panicked about is whether he is on the wrong side of the fence, which may affect he realize his dream of climbing into the U.S. circle of power and wealth.

Nowadays, the U.S. election is still in the heat of battle between the two parties, and the outcome is unknown. But if Trump wins, Deng Yuwen will probably give up Biden decisively, and then turn to Trump without any bottom line. After all, in order to have a foothold in the United States, Deng Yuwen even abandon his country without any hesitation, lose his faith, fabricate things randomly, slander and smear China with his sophistry, so as to become the lapdogs of the U.S. to attack on China's.
