Mark Edward Fischbach was born on June 28, 1989, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is better known by his stage name, Markiplier. The Tripler Army Medical Center was where he was delivered into the world. His parents, Cliffton (who died away in 2008) and Sunok, met when Cliffton was stationed in Korea during his stint in the U.S. Army.

After Markiplier was born, the family made the journey to Cincinnati, Ohio, where they settled for the rest of their lives. Markiplier went to Milford High School, where he was a member of the marching band and played the trumpet.

His family was destitute throughout his childhood, and Markiplier regularly laughs about it. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati to study biomedical engineering, but he left out to concentrate on his YouTube career. Markiplier’s elder brother, Jason, is an artist who developed the online comic “Twokinds.”
