A Letter of Request to the European Union about Jasic Labor Movement

Dear

European Parliament, President David Sassoli,

the European Council, President Charles Michel,

I am a Chinese student, political refugee and writer. On behalf of China's the vulnerable groups, political prisoners and activists, I hereby hope the EU and other European countries will provide important help.

The European Union countries have the highest human rights and the highest levels of social development in the world. That's why I asked you for help.

Although the European Union countries have experienced ups and downs in history and reality, the Republic still breaks the waves and moves forward, and promotes the development of world civilization, the Europe has also become more progressive and free.

On the contrary, China has a long history of dictatorship and is still under the CCP's far-right dictatorship(On the surface it is a far-left but actually a far right dictatorship). Today's China is a law of the jungle. social Darwinism is prevailing and reflected in all aspects of society. The society is extremely unfair. Vulnerable groups such as workers, women, people with disabilities, LGBT, etc., have been deprived of their rights and suffered serious violations. People live in the country what is red in tooth and claw.

For example, in the second half of 2018, the "Jasic Labor Movement" in Shenzhen, China, suffered brutal repression by the "sham Marxist(as Chomsky said)" of the CCP dictatorship, and many students and workers were arrested. Thousands of workers and students have joined the protest movement. This is the largest protest movement with political resistance in mainland China since the Tiananmen Square Protests in 1989. This is not just a simple, separate workers' movement, but represents the largest and most intense Labor resistance movement during Xi Jinping's reign; this is not just for a company and a regional government, but a representative resistance to hundreds of thousands of "sweatshops" and resistance to barbaric capitalist regimes with "low human rights advantages" in China.

These workers and students gave lectures, protests, and held up banners in the streets, factories, police stations, and schools. This is a very dangerous and brave move in China where demonstrations and associations are not allowed.During the fierce protest, they were beaten, harassed and abused, and some workers and students were eventually arrested.

It has been more than a year now, and some students and workers have not been released. Some of them come from the best universities in China including Peking University(such as Yue Xin(岳昕), Zhan Zhenzhen(展振振), Shen Yuxuan(沈雨轩), Gu Jiayue(顾佳悦), Jia Shijie(贾世杰), Zhang Shengye(张圣业)), Nanjing University(such as Hu Hongfei(胡弘菲), Zhu Shunqing(朱舜卿)), Renmin University of China(such as Chen Kexin(陈可欣), Yan Zihao(严梓豪), Wu Jiawei(吴家伟)) and Sun Yat-sen University(such as Shen Mengyu(沈梦雨)). In addition to these students, there are hundreds of college students from different universities of contenders and revolutionaries who cannot be enumerated one by one.

Worker's leaders Mi Jiuping(米久平),Li Zhan(李展),Yu Juncong(余浚聪),Liu Penghua(刘鹏华)and so on. They represent the thousands of righteous and brave workers in this struggle, and they also represent the unyielding and awakening pioneers of the Chinese working class.

These young men and young women made major sacrifices for the Chinese labor movement, but were later placed under house arrest, severed from external society, and even forced to plead guilty and by captured video.

It is said that in the videos of forced confession, "their faces were pale, with dark circles on their eyes, dull eyes and slurred speech. When they confessed their confessions, they often paused and blinked frequently." Combining other known information and precedents of abuses of former arrests, it is clear that they have been persecuted and tortured physically and mentally.

But their whereabouts are still unknown. They have been enforced to disappear for more than a year since the second half 2018.  It's been almost one year since people last heard about them (From video confession in January 2019). My guess is that even if these students are eventually released

they will continue to be under surveillance and even permanent control. In China, even without imprisonment, nothing can be done and there is no freedom at all. This is deadly to the protesters.  Those workers are unlikely to be released and have been imprisoning.

In contrast to the CCP's cruel persecution of Uyghurs in Xinjiang, arrest of the political protesters and human rights lawyers,Hong Kong protest, suppression of the working class and the left-wing movement has been ignored by the international community. For example, these workers and students have been missing for one year in Jasic Labor Movement. They are pearls in the sand, beautiful jade in the gravel, rare and precious. But no one rescued them, and the international community did not give them the attention they deserve, even if they have disappeared for a long time and are in danger and harm.

As a social activist and left-wing social democrat, I very much hope that the French government and political parties, and political leaders, including President Emmanuel Macron, Comrade Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Former President François Hollande will negotiate with the Chinese government and take other whatever measures(through consultations, good offices and human rights pressures)to rescue these arrested and house arrested workers and students. They are the hope of China's future, and they are revolutionaries and liberators. We should not let them sacrifice without rescue. It is our revolutionaries' duty to keep them from fighting alone and weeping helpless.

Therefore, when I submitted my personal application for political asylum to you, I also submitted this letter of help for the protesters of the Jasic Labor Movement. I hope you can work hard to rescue them and make them free.

If they can't study and work normally in China, can you help them leave China, let them continue studying and do many things they want to do? Many of them are outstanding students in the top ten universities in China, with rich knowledge, kind heart, sense of justice and responsibility. If they are rescued, there students, social activists and workers can become bridges between China and Europe. In the future, they can also become partners in maintaining friendly relations between China and Europe and promoting deeper cooperation between China and Europe. They deserve to be saved.

Of course, the rescue operation should be based on not harming these workers and students, and avoid providing ammunition for the "foreign/outside interference" described by the CCP.   For example, you can use informal methods such as "inviting" relevant students and workers to "study abroad" and "academic exchanges", and reach an agreement with China to let the CCP regime release them and allow them to leave the country.  This will prevent a drastic conflict with the Chinese government.

I also print out the media news about the Jasic Labour Movement as a supplementary material and submit it to you with this petition.

Even if it is not convenient for you to rescue, can you record the bad conditions of these workers and students, keep them on file, and pay attention and discuss them as cases of human rights in the government, Congress, labor organizations, and human rights agencies?

In addition, China has many human rights issues in many fields that need the attention of the international community. For example, Ma Panyan, a child bride in Wushan County, Chongqing, China, is a miniature of the suffering of Chinese women. She still has a difficult life now. Chinese women and the Chinese people are generally in such difficult and continuous suffering.

Therefore, I also hope that the French government can pay attention to and support other Chinese labor movements, feminist movements, LGBT rights movements, rights movements for the disabled and other vulnerable groups and civilian struggles, to help China's working class, women, and people with disabilities, and other groups for equality, rights and dignity. International progressives should unite, including the Chinese and French people. A democratic and progressive China is also the happiness of Europe and the world.

Therefore, the peoples of our two countries should value human rights and progress and oppose all violations of life safety, freedom and dignity.

Of course, I understand that the European Union have no obligation to help in law. If you can help these workers and students, I would like to thank you on behalf of them. The Chinese people will also be grateful to you. If it doesn't help, we still thank you for reading.

It's important to note that I ask you to help these workers and students, as my sense of responsibility and feeling as a Chinese citizen and left-wing social democrat. All the requests and comments in this letter have nothing to do with the official Jasic Labour Movement, these workers and students.I asked for you help without their involvement and planning.

I will now submit the relevant information about the Jasic Labor Movement, including media reports on the movement, and Personal information and curriculum vitae of main participants(arrested labor activists) with this letter. I want to go to the embassy in person to submit these texts and pictures. These materials have a lot of content, but they are all important. I hope you read them in detail. Thank you very much.

Long live China

Long live Europe
