1. Where can I go to get my hearing checked?

If you're unsure, ask your doctor for a referral if they have one. They might suggest an ENT to you (ear, nose, and throat specialist, or otolaryngologist).

Normally, you should be able to get hearing aids from an audiologist or hearing instrument specialist once they have assessed your hearing. State-specific regulations vary, but generally speaking, the professional is trained in the selection, fitting, and maintenance of hearing aids.

Make sure you are satisfied with the provider's level of care and the choices available. A warning sign is when there is just one brand of hearing aid available. Make sure your provider has a variety of options in different price ranges and styles.
