A petition letter to the ambassador of UAE in the U.S

Dear Mr. Ambassador,  

Greetings, we hope you are doing well. We are Chinese dissidents and American citizens, living in Virginia. and We are asking for your support to help another Chinese dissident named Wang Jingyu.    

Chinese blogger Wang Jingyu, who is wanted by the Chinese government after questioning the authorities over the border dispute with India, has been arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is now facing extradition to China. Wang has both U.S. Visa and a Green card, he is a permanent resident of the U.S.   

Wang was arrested at the Dubai Airport on April 6th, while he was on his way from Istanbul to New York on an Emirates flight. He is currently stationed at a detention center in the UAE, being arrested on charges of insult Islam religions upon arrival at Dubai Airport, per his case record with Dubai's Public Prosecutor Office.    

Wang was warned by his lawyer that he could be extradited to China. Chinese Embassy officials in the UAE have already visited Wang several times at his location, trying to convince and persuade him to “cooperate” in the extradition back to his home country.  

In fact, in February 2021, Wang, a native of Chongqing, lived in Europe and questioned the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) for over eight months in waiting before revealing the number of dead soldiers in the border clash with India. In a post on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo, he doubted the PLA had truthfully revealed its casualties during the border clash with India. Meanwhile, Chinese local police claimed that Wang had "slandered" the war heroes and issued a wanted notice against him, charging him under a 2018 Heroes and Martyrs Protection Law, which prohibits activities “diminishing” the velour of martyrs.    

This is a new case regarding the Chinese government’s “long-arm” persecution of global Chinese dissidents. Extraditing dissident is against the principle of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and violate international law and rule. We must terminate the Chinese Communist Party’s actions and its evil program. We should protect the freedom of speech globally and in every country.   

We are confident and hopeful in you and your concern for the case so that we may save Wang Jingyu from Dubai and countless others that have been affected as a result.
