#Anarchist | Talking to myself

July 13-19, 2020

GOALS OF NEXT WEEK:
1) Prelims: Review all the discussions I had previously with advisor, determine topic/area with prof. P, prof. L, Prof. H, Prof. I (send cv & ask for being a member)
2) Paper: Finish SSM paper revision and send to Steven
3) Research Group: data analysis (1. COVID-19, 2. participation online), send all results [3] to Prof. H
4) Others: Send additional results to Prof. M; Informal Conference Slides

☀️ Monday:
Research Group: 4H
- Check transcript, If complete, send email to L (request rcl) [need to wait]
- Research Group: data analysis [anomie ~ online participation; COVID-19], if finished, send to Prof. H (what to do with authoritarianism?)
Wellness: woke up at 7:45am, morning YOGA [30 min], workout before dinner [1H], grocery shopping with friend

傍晚收到ISS邮件要求填写下学期修课计划,一开始以为ICE只是个提案,原来是个实际政策!?所以他们随便决定政策,不需要国会审议投票决定?这么快?然而Trump之前被弹劾却还在白宫?我理解这是不同程序和法律的结果,但是没人觉得奇怪吗?

其实很多事情的混乱和不顺利,是由自我长期各种堆积下来的坏习惯和小毛病造成的结果,并不是结束。如果视它为一个征兆,则可以分析它解决它,由此改善自我。世间的人,都烦着各自的恼,我仅是其中一人。“活在当下” -- 意为: 专注此刻,正是此时手里的事,正是此刻身处的环境,无须为过去和未来过度担忧,但又要懂得现在此时此刻是过去的结果,未来的原因。

- Send email to Prof. He. (request l.g.)
- Send COVID-19 results to Prof H.
- Send email to Prof. H. (request i.s. 2)
- Check transcript, if completed, request rcl [not yet]
- Contact U-Haul
Wellness: woke up at 9:30am, workout, meditation, furo

Job Application: 2H | Prelims: 1H = 3H
- Check transcript, if completed, request rcl, with L and Prof. H
- Enroll

Wellness: workout [眼看着wellness的项目越来越少哈哈,连早起都没了。]

昨天ICE把针对国际生的新政策撤消,今天还是趁机弄好了下学期的一些事务。

☀️ Thursday:
Prelims: 1.5H | Others: IC Slides 2.5H = 4H
- Send email to A for RL [not got response yet]
- Making slides for Informal Conference
Wellness: woke up at 9:30am, 1.5H walk with friends

其实我花了一晚上时间做完了IC的slides,还排练了好几遍,最后因理由退出了。
虽然还是有一些觉得“浪费时间了”的懊恼,但是在把term paper变成slides的几个小时中,我突然get到了教授最开始给过我的提议。之前我一直在另一个方向上使劲儿,写paper的过程中有过很多自我怀疑。现在更清楚接下来的survey要怎样design,以及我的RQ和贡献。所以,我的感想是: 1) 在时间紧凑有限的情况下,只做对自己最重要的事,略过无所谓的事;2) 所有事都不是无用的事。其实 1) 与 2) 不矛盾,只是时间问题。

- Confirmed A's rl [will receive next week]
- Research group meeting [canceled]
- Sent results to Prof. M
Wellness: work up at 8:30am, 1.5H walk with friends to the library, lake, and grocery shopping, workout, meditation.

了结了偶尔想起来让自己不舒服的事情,无论怎样,我完成了我的部分,至于对方怎么回应那不是我能控制也不是我的事情了。挥手~

Research Group: 5.5H | Prelims: 3.5H | Job Application: 2H | Others: 7H = 18H [Ave = 3.6H]
