LikeCoin features

LIKE

LikeCoin is a decentralized publishing infrastructure for empowering content ownership, authenticity, and provenance. It acts as a repository for immutable digital content metadata. Content creators can record data and ensure its integrity using the LikeCoin Content Registry Protocol, ISCN (International Standard Content Number).

The ISCN functions as the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) for digital content; this unique, immutable content identifier contains metadata including timestamp, author, title, publisher, licensing, and versions. At its core, content metadata will be recorded on the public LikeCoin blockchain and linked to decentralized storage solutions like IPFS or Arweave to store and serve ISCN-related content.

LikeCoin provides publishing related SDKs / plugins that can integrate with publishing platforms such as news agencies, social media and blog sites. Some of the media endowed with LikeCoin include Matters, Standnews, InMedia, HKCNews, and 1600+ other websites. LikeCoin can also be used on WordPress, Medium, Vocus, Blogspot (Blogger.com), Pixnet, and other content platforms. LikeCoin also provides a LikeCoin button for media to receive rewards from readers in their hands. The main component of the infrastructure is the LikeCoin chain, a public blockchain created specifically for publishing content that supports the Republic of Liker Land.

What is the relationship between ISCN and IPFS?

Interplanetary File System (IPFS) is a decentralized file system protocol for storing and sharing data on a peer-to-peer network. The IPFS hash of the content can serve as a fingerprint of the content in the ISCN record. IPFS provides the backbone of the lower layer protocol.

ISCN records important content metadata such as author, publication date, license terms, versions, and fingerprint of the content. It is ideally combined with decentralized file systems such as IPFS to enable users to more efficiently search for ISCN indexed content on the decentralized network. ISCN is also a version control and licensing solution.

However, the content fingerprint is not a required IPFS hash, but can be any content address such as an Arweave content ID or even a popular web address. The ISCN record might even be populated not with any content fingerprint, but only with other metadata.

LikeCoin token

The LikeCoin token is usually called LikeCoin for short, it is the actual token in Liker Land. LikeCoin has the following uses:

Decentralized Publishing: Register an ISCN, pay the GAS fee and application service provider cost.

Rewards: Reward creator, content manager and validator

Transactions: Buy products and services from the community through LIKE pay, such as services from Matters Market or payments in general

Governance: Submission of the contribution and thus the Liker vote. The more Liker contributes, the more LikeCoin it gets and the more powerful power it has in the community.

Connecting with other communities and the traditional world: LikeCoin can be exchanged for and from Stable Coin, Bitcoin, TWD, HKD and other traditional and crypto currencies. LikeCoin LIKE ticker on Liquid, DigiFinex, ZB and MyEthShp crypto exchanges.

Overview

LikeCoin Chain is powered by Cosmos (SDK). When launched, the software will launch 2 components: Tendermint, which interacts with other nodes and handles blockchain / consensus-related materials; a Cosmos SDK application that receives transactions from Tendermint and processes them according to the application logic. Tendermint is a consensus engine that helps developers develop their own blockchain by separating specific parts of the blockchain (consensus, block processing, P2P networking, etc.) and application logic. Developers only need to implement the logic of their application according to an interface called Application BlockChain Interface (ABCI), then Tendermint will take care of the parts of the blockchain.

Only with Tendermint, the chain will be consortium chain, which means that only a predefined set of key holders can propose and validate blocks. However, Tendermint provides mechanisms for application logic to determine who can be validators, allowing validators to be selected from a large pool of participants and thus become a public chain.

Cosmos SDK is an SDK that helps developers develop their ABCI application by providing standard modules for common blockchain functions such as coin transfer. It also provides a Proof of Stake related module that makes the chain a public blockchain by selecting validators according to the number of coins they have staked.
