舊金山定錨啤酒,在台灣全家便利商店上架了舊金山巨人隊聯名啤酒,這款啤酒口味比定錨啤酒上一款夏日小麥啤酒更討喜,橘子果味更濃,橙色也是舊金山巨人隊隊徽色,照理有優勢,但產品在舊金山的運動粉絲,卻不見得能移轉到台灣。

舊金山巨人隊聯名啤酒,值得一嚐。在灣區受歡迎,甚至順勢推出第二款墨西哥風味聯名啤酒,但在台灣,比粉絲,舊金山巨人隊比不上NBA金州勇士隊粉絲多,甚至比不上陽岱鋼的東京讀賣巨人隊。

San Francisco Giants Orange Splash beer by Anchor Brewing Co. showed up in Taiwanese convenience store.

It tasted more fruity than Anchor Summer Wheat beer. The beer is good but San Francisco Giants didn’t have any home court advantage in Taiwan. Fans of NBA Golden State Warriors might be more than fans of San Francisco Giants here.

不過,藉大聯盟聯名啤酒上架機會,剛好談談華盛頓郵報跟知名「啤酒主義」網站,合作「最佳棒球啤酒」評選活動。

It seems to me a good opportunity to re-study an event called “Best Beer in Baseball” by Washington Post & beeradvocate.com.

這活動由華盛頓郵報與「啤酒主義」網站招集全美各地啤酒專家、體育記者、行銷專家,根據在地性、品質、獨特性三個面向,對美國職棒大聯盟卅個球場提供的啤酒評分。

最後由西雅圖水手隊主場奪得「最佳棒球啤酒主場」榮銜,西雅圖水手隊主場除啤酒品質列名全大聯盟第四外,在地性與獨特性評分都得第一,第二名是辛辛那提紅人隊主場,提供啤酒品質列名全美之冠。

這項專業人士評選結果,證明有錢、財團多的大都市球場提供啤酒不見得好,紐約洋基隊主場啤酒名列大聯盟卅個球隊主場最後一名,林子偉出身的波士頓主場昂貴的十塊美金啤酒名列第廿二名,陳偉殷的邁阿密主場啤酒名列第廿三名。

Their rankings determine the overall status of beer available in each MLB stadium by considering three factors. Quality is determined by the number of beers ranked “very good” or better, according to BeerAdvocate.com. Locality is how many breweries represented are based in the same state as the team. Uniqueness is the number of breweries available only at one MLB stadium. Each of these rankings is given equal weight.

In the End the beer in Seattle Mariners Safeco field ranked No.1 and the beer in New York Yankees ranked 30th.

從這個活動相關資訊可學到很多,以台灣為例,在高雄主場,提供用美濃木瓜、燕巢芭樂、六龜芒果釀的水果啤酒,在地性與獨特性得分一定高。

It seems that their ranking system could work in Taiwan. It would be great that we could taste some fruity beer in Kaohsiung stadium which brewed with fruits around Kaohsiung.
